Dr. Derick Luu, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic


Derick has a passion for helping those living with persistent/chronic pain. He will work together with each patient to develop an actionable plan in addressing their concerns and specific goals. Derick takes a whole person (bio-psycho-social) approach towards helping his patients in pain and will work closely with other health care providers to ensure that they feel supported and have all their health needs addressed.

Derick focuses on patient empowerment by providing patient education and utilizing rehabilitation strategies to teach patients how to self-manage their pain. He also has a background in strength and conditioning as a competitive powerlifter and utilizes a mix of clinical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning to help his patients achieve their functional goals.

Derick earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2017 and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Throughout his time studying at CMCC he also spent time shadowing and being mentored by experienced clinicians working in the area of chronic pain and physical medicine & rehabilitation. Derick is currently completing his Masters degree in Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University where his research is focused on persistent/chronic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and knowledge translation.

During his free time, you can catch Derick at the gym pumping iron, reading a research article or brewing a cup of coffee!
